Frequently Asked Questions

What makes this different from other Mission trips?

We are a student led and adult supported mission. High School students lead all aspects of this mission from work crews to worship.

Our goal is to lay the seeds for a lifetime of serving others.

We focus on the Middle School Students' needs to ensure the highest impact mission trip.

Our church buildings are set up to comfortably house youth and give them plenty of outside and inside options during free time.

I have one youth interested. Can they come alone?

Yes!

If you have 1-2 youth they can come without an adult.

If 3 or more youth from one church want to attend they MUST bring an adult.

What role do our adults play?

Local adults serve to support the students by working as site directors, kitchen staff and other support positions.

Adults serving as chaperones serve as drivers, support for leaders and participants in the mission. We organize this mission so that Youth Leaders/Pastors can enjoy the time with their teens.

If you cannot have one adult stay the entire time, multiple adults from your church can work in shifts. Please communicate this with the MyCalling! Staff before signing everyone up.

Where do we stay?

We eat, sleep, and play at

Yardley United Methodist Church

300 Langhorne Yardley Rd Yardley Pa 19067

EAT: We eat breakfast and dinner at the church prepared by local volunteers. Menus are provided and we plan alternatives for those with dietary restrictions. Lunch is packed in the morning and eaten at your work site.

SLEEP: We transform our Sunday School rooms into sleeping quarters for everyone participating in the mission. Adults and youth should bring an air mattress or cot.

PLAY: During free time groups are invited to go outside to play games such as volleyball or gaga, take a nap, or stay inside and play card games or hang. Groups are encouraged to bring their own indoor and outdoor games to share.

Why should I participate?

Teens:

During these four days you will help more people than you can imagine and you will meet other teens doing the same. You will spend four days having fun and making a difference in the lives of the missions, families, and households we serve.

Youth Leaders:

You just need to get here and we will take care of the rest! Once your group arrives you can spend your time in ministry with your teens. While there are opportunities for you to lead, you are not obligated to do anything other than enjoy time with your group!

Volunteers:

Whether you are donating food or a site director you will find working with our passionate student leaders a highly spiritually rewarding experience. You will have the opportunity to use your gifts and talents to serve The Lord and help support MyCalling! Ministries.
